So, your school is having a Picture Day with us? Here's what you should expect. 👇🏻
If your school hasn't worked with us in the past, you are probably wondering how this will work and what you should expect from us before and after Picture Day. In this article, you will find everything you need to know about working with The Missing Sock.
Pre-registration 📝
3 weeks before Picture Day, your school will start fowarding promotional emails so you can pre-register online for your photo session. The emails will redirect you to our online form, where you'll be able to pre-order your favorite package and add-ons. We have 8 different packages for you. The first 4 packages (A to D) include printed copies of the images, and the last 4 (E to H) include only digital images in high resolution.
Our add-ons include additional prints, class photos, digital images, coffee mugs, keychains, and more.
Why pre-paid?
We usually work with a pre-paid system. This means that parents sign up before Picture Day and purchase the package they would like to get. By pre-paying for your package, you can make sure the photos look exactly as you want them to. Through our online form, you can submit detailed instructions to our photographers so they can do their best during the session. Common instructions include specific poses you'd like to see, tips on how to make the kids smile genuinely, or requests to have photos taken with a sibling.
Our backdrops 💜
We use only physical backdrops for photo sessions, and they are different for every session. There aren't any digital versions available, so we recommend taking a look at our promotional emails. In there, you'll find photo samples of the backdrop we'll use for your school, along with recommendations on how to find the best outfit for it. We send parents recommended color palettes, tips to assemble an outfit, and examples of how the photos will look.
After the session: You can change your pre-paid order ✅
Just because you prepay for something, it doesn't mean your purchase is set on stone.
After the photographers finish the session, we will edit the images and upload them to a private online gallery so you can see them. Through this gallery, you'll be able to see and select your favorite photos before they are sent to print.
The proofing stage has a duration of 5 days. During this time, you'll be able to use your credit (the amount you used to pre-register) to select your photos, and if you wish, you'll be able to change your package and get something different.
Let's say, for example, that before Picture Day you pre-pay for a Package B, which includes printed images. After you see the photos, you realize you'd rather get a package of 3 digital images. Through your online gallery, you'll be able to use the credit you used to get the Package B to select a different package.
If there's a price difference, the system will prompt you to pay it. If not, you'll be able to checkout without paying for anything.
What happens if you don't like your photos? 🤔
Photographs are extremely subjective, and sometimes, parents aren't happy with the way their kids smiled, or how their hair looked. We understand you might not love your photos, so that's why during the 5-day proofing stage, you can contact us to find a solution. We can offer to upload more images to your gallery, reedit the photos, save your credit for a future session, or a full refund back to your original payment method.
During some seasons, we also offer retake sessions at our studio. However, this option is not always available. You can ask our Customer Service team about it if you'd like to know more information.
Receiving the photos 📩
After you select your photos through your online gallery, we'll send the images to print and deliver them in one package to the school. If you select free shipping, the images will be sent to the school along with the rest of the school's orders. If you select home shipping (for a small fee) the images will be delivered to your home address.
